Meet Amy
Twenty years of experience as an educator and as a principal of therapeutic schools, combined with training as a clinician, provides Amy Dickson with the unique ability to work with parents, students, individuals, couples, and families.
Her experience in special education, and as an advocate for parents, prepares her to work with children and adolescents who are experiencing difficulties in the school environment, special education services, and tumultuous developmental stages. She specializes in enhancing parenting skills and in using conflict to create opportunities to remedy family dysfunction, stress, and communication challenges.
Amy infuses her treatment with hypnotherapy practices and techniques. Her understanding, compassion, and acceptance of people create a safe and trusting therapeutic environment for confronting personal and family issues and for developing strategies for well-being and mental stability.
Testimonials
"Simply put Amy is a rockstar in her profession! She’s in the top 1%. Our family would not be where they are today without her. She has a unique way of getting through to our male family members that typically won't agree to see a counselor. We have had several friends go to Amy, and everyone loves her. She's very talented and the one to trust when you don't know where to go."
